This cookie policy explains how haxies.com uses cookies and similar browser storage. It's short because the answer is simple: Haxies doesn't track you.
We don't set advertising cookies, we don't run cross-site trackers, and we don't load social media pixels. You won't see a wall of consent toggles here, because there's nothing behind them to switch off.
What cookies are
A cookie is a small text file a website asks your browser to store. On later visits, your browser sends it back, so the site can recognise the browser. Cookies can remember a login, keep items in a basket, or, in the case of tracking cookies, follow you across many sites to build an advertising profile.
Similar technologies work in much the same way. Local storage and session storage let a page keep small pieces of data in your browser. Tracking pixels are tiny images that report when a page or email was opened.
"First-party" cookies are set by the site you're on. "Third-party" cookies are set by another domain, usually an advertiser or analytics provider whose code the site has loaded.
What this cookie policy covers
This policy covers haxies.com and every page served from it. It doesn't cover the casinos, sportsbooks or other sites we link to. Those sites set their own cookies under their own policies, which we explain further down.
The domain was once home to Unsanity, a Mac software company. Nothing from that old site, including any cookies it may have set, carries over to the current Haxies.
Cookies Haxies sets
Haxies itself sets no tracking cookies. We don't use cookies to identify you, to count you across visits, or to show you ads.
Specifically, the site does not use:
- advertising or retargeting cookies;
- third-party analytics cookies that build a profile of you;
- social media share or like-button trackers;
- fingerprinting scripts or tracking pixels.
Our hosting and security provider may set a strictly necessary cookie in some situations, for example to tell a real browser apart from an automated attack. These cookies exist only to keep the site available and safe. They aren't used for advertising and don't follow you to other sites.
Preferences stored in your browser
Some pages may remember a small choice you make, such as a display setting, a table sort order or a box you collapsed. Where that happens, the preference is kept in your browser's local storage.
That data stays on your device. It isn't sent to our servers, it isn't shared with anyone, and it doesn't identify you. If you clear your browser's site data, the preference simply resets and the page goes back to its default.
Private or incognito windows usually discard this storage when you close them, and the site works normally either way.
We don't use local storage as a back door for tracking. Nothing stored this way carries an ID, a timestamp of your visits or anything that could link one session to another on our side, because none of it ever reaches us.
Cookies set after you click through to a casino
Many links to operators on Haxies pass through a /go/ address before forwarding you to the casino. That forwarding step tells the operator the visit came from Haxies, which is how referral commissions are tracked. Our affiliate disclosure explains how that works and why it never affects a score.
Once you land on the casino's site, it will almost certainly set its own cookies. These can include login cookies, affiliate tracking cookies, analytics, fraud-prevention tools and, in some cases, advertising trackers. Some operators also run identity and KYC checks that rely on device data.
Those cookies are set by the operator, not by us. They're governed by the operator's own cookie and privacy policies, which you should read before you sign up. We can't see, change or delete them.
How to control cookies
You stay in control of cookies through your browser. Every major browser lets you:
- view the cookies and site data stored for each website;
- delete cookies for one site or for all sites;
- block third-party cookies entirely;
- block all cookies, though this can break logins on other sites;
- clear data automatically when you close the browser.
Look for "Privacy" or "Cookies and site data" in your browser's settings. On a phone, the same options usually sit under the browser's privacy or security menu.
Blocking cookies won't stop Haxies from working. Every page is readable with cookies turned off. Some casino sites, on the other hand, may not let you log in or play without them.
Why we keep it this way
A comparison site that tracks its readers would be an odd thing to trust. We read operators' terms, do the arithmetic and publish the score. None of that needs to know who you are.
Keeping the site free of trackers also keeps it fast, and it means there's very little personal data to protect in the first place. Our privacy policy explains the small amount of information we do handle, such as standard server logs and emails you send us.
Changes to this cookie policy
If we ever change how the site uses cookies, we'll update this page and the date at the top. A change that introduced non-essential cookies would come with a clear way to accept or refuse them before they're set.
Questions about this policy can go to [email protected]. The wider rules for using the site are in our terms of use.
